The youth teams provided some solace for Manchester United fans on another weekend of disappointment for the first team. There’s hope for the future as they have started the season well at both U23 and U18 levels and both teams earned good wins this time out.
The U23s won 4-0 at Newcastle in the Premier League Division 2 with two goals from Tahith Chong and one each from Largie Ramazani and James Garner. That leaves United with two wins from two this season and top of the table on goal difference from West Ham.
The U18s beat Blackburn Rovers 3-1 with two goals from Anthony Elanga and one from Dillon Hoogewerf. They now sit fifth in the north group of the U18 Premier League with six points from three games, three points behind leaders Manchester City.
